Kids Cooking Show To Premier on PBS Summer of 2010

This summer, Macy’s Culinary Studio in downtown Chicago will open its doors to the Jr. Cuisine Cooking Show – airing on PBS TV. Casting Calls are being held from 10am-7pm on May 8th, 15th, and 22nd. The Jr. Cuisine Cooking Show is looking for talented kids between 6 -14 yrs old who love to cook, sing or dance to join their cast.

Cherise Ragland, Executive Producer and Founder of the Jr. Cuisine Cooking Show, is excited for the premier of the show this summer on PBS; “We are so excited to introduce the Jr. Cuisine Show as the first of it’s kind. We will use the culinary arts as a platform to educate our youth on current issues that are very relevant to our communities.”

Jr. Cuisine Cooking Show is an extension of the USA Cooking Camps, Inc. Organization, founded in 2007 to provide interactive, educational, and fun culinary workshops for elementary and high school aged youth. The show is targeted to youth ages 7-14 and their parents. The show will be televised to PBS local “Chicago Market” which represents 3.5 million households with a subsequent rolled out to PBS National market encompassing 94 million households. The show will tape 13 episodes per season, airing twice a week with a studio audience of 50-75 guests for each taping.

The Jr. Cuisine Cooking Show segments will feature authentic foods, cultural diversity, culinary celebrities, companies, restaurants and products.

The shows will be filmed at Macy’s Culinary Studio in downtown Chicago.
